I'm sorry, I Mustache

Get it?! So, for reasons I am unsure of, mustache's are super 'in' now. I don't get it, I mean my Dad has been sporting one for centuries and NOW people are catching on? Baffling. Well last weekend my dear dear friend Mark decided it would be a great idea to get 50 of his closest friends confined to one party bus...i'll leave you to imagine how that ended up. BUT, I put myself in charge of creating party favors to keep things fun and interesting. I got on the 'ol bike and headed to Michaels (surprise surprise) and bought some felt, cut them into the different objects and attached a wood stick with a hot glue gun!

A slight obsession with Pinterest

pinterest.com, its a revolution in websurfing. You know when you see something and say "I need to remember this for *blank*" WELL, this website will remember it for you! And in different categories! I just got my board a few days ago (takes awhile after you request it). The reason I bring up this obsession today is two fold, ONE: Two of my greatest friends got ENGAGED last night. This girl and her hunky boy. So happy for them. and TWO: there is a "Wedding + Events" section on Pinterest which I currently cannot get enough of because of said current events. I know, I know this isn't MY wedding, but its as close as I'd like to get today :) so sit back, and enjoy!

These people are smart

You know when you come across something (typically something that has made someone MILLIONS) and thought, WHY didn't I think of that?! Well that happened a few times for me today. Not only do I wish I invented these gems, but I wish I had them (well all but one right now, I'm sure you can guess which one!)

1. Contrary to what boyfriend may think, I do shave my legs occasionally. My razor during college had a sweet attachment to the wall which after much usage has found its way to the trash bin. Now I must rest my razor on a wire shelf with holes perfectly shaped to allow my razor to fall through. UNLESS....I had this gem. The only thing I wish was different, would be a changeable blade so you didn't have to keep buying an entire razor.
2. Okay a little morbid, but I'm sure there are some people out there who think its a little crazy that everyone gets a 3x10 plot of land to themselves for the rest of eternity. I can't wait until the generation comes upon us where there's no more room for live people because the dead are taking up too much space. I think if your going to go, this next product is a great idea. Some people prefer the traditional grave with stone, or entire statue depending on your ego or pocket size. Some enjoy to be put in a pretty jar on a shelf. How about we turn into trees! Trees are much prettier to look at than grave stones, AND they are better for the environment! This company Martin Azua has made an urn out of all natural materials and contains a seed at the bottom (you can choose the type of tree you want!). You place your ashes into this container, add water and watch your loved ones grow!
3. What to do with wasted office paper...confetti...notepads...hmm...how about making them into a pencil! I want this! You insert your paper like you would into a shredder, and out pops a pencil ready for you to use! What a smart way to up cycle office paper!

In honor of today's sunshine

I got to roll down my windows today, not because I wanted to stick my head out like a dog, but simply because I was warm! Felt amazing, you should try it sometime. I also have a sunroof, which is new to me, and I kinda felt like I was in a roller coaster when I stick my hands out of it. Made my day.

In honor of the sun, I thought I'd share a little trend going on in the interior design world...and how to make one for super cheap-because these suckers can range from around $50 to $200 depending on how crazy you are. Don't know what I'm talking about? Here's a few examples:
I ventured (by bike! so eco...) over to Michael's to pick up some supplies. All you need is a mirror, wood circle, and wood rods. If I did this over again, I would go with thicker rods and a larger mirror...I would also wait until the end to spray paint. SO! I cut down the wood rods to size (about a foot each) and spray painted them black. I used a hot glue gun...just because it was handy. Probably best to use wood glue on this sucker but it seemed to work fine.
Glue all of the rods around, I varied the length they stuck out (using drawn circles as guides). Then I glued on the mirror on the front side and voila! My own sunburst for under $20. Here is the wall pre-sunburst addition....
And with the new addition...

Notice those bottles on the table? Evidence of today's goodwill run, I think they are so neat! I can't decide if I want to put tall candles in them or flowers....decisions decisions...Dan what do you think?!
