Parade of Homes

Ready for another home tour picture overload?! 'Tis the fall season I suppose. The Parade of Homes is a month long homestravaganzaa where builders open up various model homes to showcase their work. This past weekend we checked out a few homes in an area we can only dream of living...but if those dreams come to life, oh we know exactly the house we would beg to own.

What I love about events like these, is that it showcases what is new on the design market, as well as various floor plans to spark some ideas in your own home. Floor plans are difficult to take pictures of, so I'll highlight a few I saw this past weekend:

Master Suite Laundry: Of course, all the master bedrooms were decked out with walk in closets and bathrooms the size of my bedroom. But one bedroom we saw had one entrance into the bedroom (off the kitchen), through that is a walk in closet which leads into the laundry room and then into the back entrance of the house. This still separated the master closet and the laundry, but they were close enough to encourage even me to want to do laundry!

Jack and Jill: I know this isn't a new thing, but it reinvigorated my love for Jack and Jill bathrooms. I would have LOVED this growing up. I think it would have saved many morning fights with my sisters!

Staging: There were a few homes on the tour with only a few rooms staged. This made it difficult to see how the designer pictured the room. Workout rooms are popular in homes today, but did they design this space for that or a spare bedroom? One home had a smaller bedroom turned into a craft room (which obviously I loved), selling a home, or in their case a design is so dependent on people understanding the concept. You'll see below though, that some of the homes were so amazing in how they were staged.

Now for the awesome part of the post, the pictures!

Copper drain pipes?! yumm...

Great use of space, who doesn't want a window seat?!

Blurry picture, but loved seeing radiant heating being used!

Wallpaper has typically not been something I like, but this is beautiful!

Again with the wall paper, sold!

Don't mind us in the mirror, look at that ceiling!

Love the three toned stripes!

This shower/bath combo is amazing, but 2 large windows open to the neighbors might need some window treatments!

LOOK at how the shape of the light fixture reflects on the walls!

Glazing white cabinets pops out the detailing and adds depth, looks great here!

Blurry picture, but I love how the center divider sinks down a bit, it's the little things :)

Kinda wished the wood panels extended up to the ceiling here...

With that, ends September. I am thankful that in this season I am not gearing up for another semester of school! Going to Target in the fall just isn't the same when you don't need to hit up the school supplies isle (hint: it's better!).

Have a great week!
