Rug Pads

This post is sponsored by Rug Pad USA. All thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.

Do you guys use rug pads? I have NEVER bought a rug pad in my life (except for those 'keeps your rugs in place' kind?) however, we inherited one from a family member with the rug in our living room. It's DEFIANTLY one of those things you don't know what you're missing until you know what you're missing.

See, I LOVE hardwood floors. They are clean and beautiful. However, in chilly Minnesota, we need a little comfort under our toes to not freeze through the winter. The previous rug I had in the living room was from a discount store and was about 1/8" thick. It provided zero comfort and was really good at collecting crumbs. So once we got this rug, with said rug pad, it was like our house went up four notches on the palatial palace scale. It was so glorious that we took out the coffee table because we started to sit on the floor a bit more.

Rug pads make rugs feel less 'ruggy' and more 'padded carpety' in my opinion. So, when RugPad USA contacted me to try out one of their pads I was ALL about it. However, we don't currently have a house/rug that NEEDS a pad. BUT, ya know who did? My parents!

They have a HUGE rug in their living room sans rug pad. We spend ALOT of time in this room, and at times guests find their way to sitting on the floor when it's a packed house.

Since the rug was on hardwood floors, we decided to try out the Superior Lock pad that RugPad USA had to offer. It has a rubber bottom to help keep the rug in place, and a felt top for comfort. There are three thickness sizes we could choose from, we chose the medium thickness. I wanted a little extra padding, but not too much that my mom would trip on the rug (it's a special gift to be able to trip on a semi-flat surface, and it runs in the family).

The package came in a compact roll, we unraveled it and set it beneath the existing rug. We ordered the rug 1" shorter on either side so the rug could overlap it on the edges for a seamless fit.

This is defiantly one of those - ya gotta feel it to believe it - things, but it DOES make a difference. I think especially for rugs on hardwood floors it's a game changer to making your spaces FEEL cozy.

Check out their website - I always thought rug pads were not affordable especially after dropping so much for the actual rug. HOWEVER, RugPad USA is totally affordable and charges by the SF. They are also having a 15% off sale right now with free shipping, so stock up!

Do you guys use rug pads?!
